2020 NFL Draft: Two-round mock draft featuring Joe Burrow going No. 2
In the second round of this 2020 NFL draft scenario, Buffalo Bills get quarterback Josh Allen an interesting receiver to work with. Collin Johnson is a big and strong receiver who has a great catch radius and consistently wins contested-catch situations. Johnson is a perfect fit for a guy like Allen who has had his struggles with accuracy.
The secondary has been a real strength for the Green Bay Packers this season, as their cornerbacks have been locking down receivers all year long. However, you can never have too many talented cornerbacks in the mix. Jaylon Johnson is a gifted cornerback prospect who shows nice ball skills and is tough against the run. He is a bit of an under-developed player, but Johnson is an interesting player who has clear talent in the secondary.
Nick Harris is a tough and powerful center prospect who excels as a run blocker and competes well in pass protection. He is an extremely aggressive and technically-sound offensive lineman who would fit well with the Seahawks.
Next, the Seahawks take a shot on some cornerback upside. Jeff Gladney is a bit underdeveloped, but he is an impressive cover cornerback who has great ball skills.
In this mock draft, the Miami Dolphins have found their franchise quarterback, added the best defensive back in the class and made significant improvements to their offensive line. Here, they wrap up this mock by adding Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard.
Hubbard shows great ball carrier vision and is extremely quick in short spaces. But when this guy sees a hole, he hits hard. His burst through the hole is fantastic as is his elusiveness in open space. The Dolphins find a good one here at the end of round two.
We talked earlier about how important it is for the Chiefs to protect Patrick Mahomes. We are doubling-up that importance here wit the selection of another offensive lineman. Netane Muti moves extremely well for an offensive lineman giving him obvious pass protection upside at the next level. He could quickly grow into a productive guard for the Chiefs.
We all know that the Patriots need a tight end. I am not a huge fan of any of the tight ends in the 2020 NFL Draft class, but this is the range where I would feel comfortable with drafting them. Grant Calcaterra is not a traditional tight end prospect but he is a great receiver who can consistently make plays in the middle of the field.
He is a good route runner who knows how to find space and has one of the best set of hands in the class, regardless of position.
