Dallas Cowboys 2020 NFL Draft: Complete 7-round mock draft
I have South Carolina defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw ranked as a legitimate first-round talent, so the Cowboys snagging him in the middle of the second round of this mock draft is a major win.
Kinlaw is an extremely active defensive tackle who has a nose for the ball. He gets off of the ball quickly and has great power at the point of attack. Kinlaw shows plenty of upside and ability as a one-gap penetrator and is a strong two-gap defensive lineman as well.
Simply put, he is a strong run defender who has plenty of upside as an interior rusher at the next level. Kinlaw is a true three-down player who would be a fantastic addition to the Dallas Cowboys in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Dallas Cowboys continue to work on the defensive side of the ball in this mock draft as they snag Cal safety Ashtyn Davis in the third round. Davis is a fast and athletic safety prospect who has plenty of upside in coverage at the next level.
He plays extremely fast on the back-end showing impressive natural range. Davis also shows strong natural ball skills, attacking the ball well at its highest point. He is a strong coverage safety who could come in and handle single-high duties from day one. Davis has also shown some upside as a man-to-man defender in the slot.
His coverage skills are impressive, but Davis does lack a bit when coming down to support the run. He is an aggressive and physical safety, but Davis lacks ideal functional strength to consistently play in the box. He also tends to overrun plays when coming up in run support. Davis is not a perfect player, but he is a talented 2020 NFL draft prospect who has some nice upside at the next level.
