LSU. Scouting Report. CB. Kristian Fulton. 1. player. 817. Pick Analysis

The Dallas Cowboys have built an interesting secondary that has a lot of talented pieces. Their cornerback group led by Byron Jones, Anthony Brown, Chidobe Awuzie and Jourdan Lewis certainly has a lot of raw talent and upside, but they have been inconsistent as a whole.

The Cowboys could certainly use some more stability at the cornerback position and need to start thinking about replacing these players before they hit free agency. Jones and Brown will both become unrestricted free agents following the 2019 season, while both Awuzie and Lewis will hit the open market after the 2020 season. Simply put, cornerback could quickly become a massive position of need for this team.

With this in mind, the Cowboys snag LSU cornerback Kristian Fulton in the first round of this 2020 NFL draft scenario. Honestly, this is a great situation for the Cowboys as they fill their most obvious position of need with a player the best player remaining on the board.

Fulton’s natural quickness and athleticism immediately stands out on tape. He is a smooth cornerback who changes directions quickly and breaks on the ball extremely well. Fulton is also an aggressive player who will come up and make life difficult for receivers at the line of scrimmage. He shows a strong, accurate punch in press and is a sticky defender in man-to-man coverage.

Fulton is one of the premier cornerbacks in the 2020 NFL draft class and would provide some nice long-term security for the Dallas Cowboys at the position. This pick was easy, Fulton is a perfect fit for Dallas and a great value in the middle of the first.
