Joe Burrow has revolutionized the LSU offense, but will this production translate into the latter half of the season as well as the NFL?

Joe Burrow has become one of the premiere quarterbacks in college football in 2019, putting up stellar performances against both Texas and Vanderbilt. With the lackluster performance of Trevor Lawrence, and the revival of Jalen Hurts, the quarterbacks of college football have been unpredictable and added a new fold into the race to the playoffs.

You can check out Hurts’ scouting report here, and this article will be composed similarly with three distinct sections:

  • Mental: Ability to make reads, pocket presence, and awareness. This category judges the ability for a quarterback to manage the game and make the right decisions while keeping cool under pressure.
  • Physical: Athleticism outside of the throwing arm. This will revolve around mobility, physical presence (within and outside the pocket), as well as any other outstanding attributes that become apparent.
  • Arm Talent: Any and everything dealing with the delivery of the football, primarily dealing with mechanics and tendencies throwing the football.

Throughout the 2019 season, Burrow has played four games, two of which have come against proven programs in Vanderbilt and Texas.

Combined between the two games, Burrow has thrown for 869 yards with 76.7% of passes completed, 10 touchdowns to one interception, and an average QBR of 94.0. Burrow has been statistically dominant, but there are still parts of his game which present issues to be addressed before bowl season comes along.
