Cincinnati Bengals 2020 NFL Draft: Complete 7-round NFL mock draft
Off-ball linebacker stands out as the biggest defensive need for the Cincinnati Bengals. They have struggled to adequately address the position in recent years and simply must find talent at the position going forward. Here in the fifth-round of this mock draft, Oklahoma linebacker Kenneth Murray stands out as an obvious fit for the team.
Murray is an extremely quick and athletic linebacker prospect who shows fantastic range at the position. He is an extremely active linebacker who has a tremendous nose for the ball. Murray sheds tackles well and can make plays against the run and has some nice upside in coverage. He would be a welcomed addition to the Bengals defense and has the talent to compete for a starting spot right away.
Michael Onwenu is a massive interior offensive line prospect who could be a great late-round value in the 2020 NFL Draft. Onwenu is listed at 6-foot-3, 350 pounds and has the raw power that you would expect out of a man of that size. However, he also moves extremely well for such a huge man.
Onwenu has impressive lateral agility, mobility and overall athleticism. He has the speed to reach the second level in the run game and his feet are quick enough to compete against speed pass rushers on the inside. Onwenu does lack ideal length for an offensive lineman and it does get him in trouble at times. That being said, he is an extremely talented interior offensive lineman who could have a bright future at the next level.
With the final 2020 NFL draft pick of this mock, the Bengals are going to take a bit of a flyer. Khalil Tate is an exciting college quarterback, but he simply does not have the arm talent to play the position at the next level. That being said, his quickness and overall athletic ability should translate well to the wide receiver position if he chooses to take that route.
Here, the Bengals take Tate with the idea to immediately move him to wide receiver. In particular, I think Tate’s quick feet and great on-field awareness would translate well to the slot. This would certainly be a bit of a project for the Cincinnati Bengals, but Tate has the skills to make this a great pick.
