Round 3, 65th Overall: Trey Adams, OT, Washington

We talked earlier about how Miami has a lot of work to do to their offensive line. The addition of Wirfs would undoubtedly help, but it does not solve all of their offensive line issues. With their third-round selection, the Dolphins take another interesting offensive tackle prospect in Trey Adams out of Washington.

Injuries have been a consistent issue for Adams throughout his college career. He suffered a torn ACL in 2017 and missed most of the 2018 season with a back injury. That being said, when Adams has been on the field, he has consistently succeeded as a pass protector.

More from NFL Mocks

Adams has a great combination of size and athleticism that he uses well in pass protection. He has the movement skills to hold up against speed on the edge and has more than enough power to anchor against the bull rush.

In this mock draft, Adams feels like a great fit for the Dolphins in this range. Assuming health, he is an NFL-ready prospect who could step in as their starting left tackle right away, leaving Wirfs to protect the lefty Tua’s blindside from the right tackle position.

Round 4, 97th Overall: J.K. Dobbins, RB, Ohio State

Running back value stuck out like a sore thumb in the fourth round of this mock draft. The Dolphins have so many needs on their roster that I was never going to worry about forcing a pick at running back. However, in this range of the draft, J.K. Dobbins is just too good to pass up.

Dobbins burst onto the scene as a freshman for Ohio State in 2017, showing incredible quickness and explosion with the ball in his hands. Last season, he took a step back, but Dobbins appears to be back on track in 2019.

Through three games, Dobbins has carried the ball 60 times for 425 yards and four touchdowns. He is back to being an extremely explosive and elusive player in the open field, showing the ability to take it to the house from anywhere on the field. Dobbins is an extremely quick and balanced player who shows tremendous ball carrier vision in traffic. He is an extremely instinctual player who simply shows a knack for finding running room.

As the Dolphins continue to build their offense, having a dynamic playmaker like Dobbins in the backfield is only going to help. Finding him in the fourth round would be a massive steal.
