With just under a month until the start of the 2019 NFL Season, Lets attempt to predict the final 53-man roster for the Baltimore Ravens

With the preseason now almost in the rearview, NFL teams as well as analysts and pundits in the media have a better idea of what kind of talent is on each squad.

We can also see who has a better chance of making the roster and who doesn’t.

Going into this particular period of the NFL offseason, we can merely speculate as to who would stay and who would go, and to be fair, we’re still unsure.

But to me, that’s what makes roster predictions so fun: the unknown. Granted, we have somewhat of an idea as to what each team is planning for the upcoming season, but for obvious reasons, we do not have the full picture.

Nonetheless, let’s proceed with a full prediction of the Baltimore Ravens 53-man roster and depth chart.

Offense

Quarterback

  1. Lamar Jackson
  2. Robert Griffin III
  3. Trace McSorely

The Ravens have typically kept 2-3 quarterbacks on their roster, and with Griffin sidelined with an injury, it makes more sense to keep the rookie McSorley around as well. There’s no way Joe Callahan stays with the team, considering that McSorely has played well enough to earn that backup role.

Running Back

  1. Mark Ingram
  2. Gus Edwards
  3. Justice Hill
  4. Kenneth Dixon

This could be one of the more talented running back groups heading into the season, and I believe that these four are a lock to make the team. The Ravens love Justice Hill and what he can provide in Greg Roman’s offense. The only player I’m a little unsure of is Kenneth Dixon.

Wide Reciever

  1. Willie Snead
  2. Marquise “Hollywood” Brown
  3. Myles Boykin
  4. Seth Roberts
  5. Chris Moore
  6. Antoine Wesley

Like the running back group, the Ravens wide receiver group could become fairly talented, particularly if Brown and Boykin develop into reliable receiving targets. And for a surprise, I put Wesley in over someone like Jaleel Scott. To me, he has shown great ability during the preseason so the Ravens would be wise to keep him.

Tight End

  1. Mark Andrews
  2. Hayden Hurst
  3. Nick Boyle

This was one of the easiest groups to predict, given that each player here has done more than enough to prove their worth.

Offensive Line

  1. Ronnie Stanley
  2. Orlando Brown Jr.
  3. Jermaine Eluemenor
  4. Marshal Yanda
  5. Matt Skura
  6. Ben Powers
  7. Bradley Bozeman
  8. Patrick Mekhari

In this prediction, I surprisingly have the Ravens leaving James Hurst on the chopping block in favor of Eleumenor. Neither are particularly great in my opinion, but when it comes to versatile offensive lineman, I’ll take Eleumenor over Hurst.

Defense

Defensive Line

  1. Michael Pierce
  2. Brandon Williams
  3. Chris Wormley
  4. Daylon Mack
  5. Patrick Ricard
  6. Gerald Willis III

These are the names that most people expect to still be in town at the beginning of the season, the only notable difference is the absence of Willie Henry. For my money, I think the undrafted rookie Willis does just enough to edge out Henry.

Outside Linebacker

  1. Matt Judon
  2. Pernell McPhee
  3. Tyus Bowser
  4. Jaylon Ferguson
  5. Tim Williams

I was close to keeping Shane Ray in town but given his less than stellar performance this offseason I couldn’t. I think John Harbaugh and Co. roll out with the guys who have shown consistency in their playing time.

Inside Linebacker

  1. Patrick Onwuasor
  2. Kenny Young
  3. Anthony Levine Sr.
  4. Chris Board

The chances of guys like Otaro Alaka, Alvin Jones or Nicholas Grigsby making the 53-man roster are very slim, but perhaps not as much as they were with Paul Worrilow signing and then immediately retiring*.

While the loss of CJ Mosley will be felt to some capacity, this is still a more than capable group.

*Paul Worrilow has now retired after signing with the Ravens, according to Ian Rappaport.

Cornerbacks

  1. Jimmy Smith
  2. Marlon Humphrey
  3. Brandon Carr
  4. Iman Marshall
  5. Anthony Averett
  6. Cyrus Jones
  7. Justin Bethel

With the injury to Tavon Young, there now seems to be extra room for guys to make the roster. Players such as Bethel and Averett, who I thought would be on the chopping block now have an opportunity to make the 53-man roster.

Safeties

  1. Earl Thomas III
  2. Tony Jefferson
  3. DeShon Elliott
  4. Chuck Clark

Like most other positions on this roster, the safety group is pretty much set in stone, with Jefferson and Thomas as the starters while Clark and Elliot remain the special team aces. Speaking of Special Team…

Special Team

  1. Justin Tucker
  2. Sam Koch
  3. Morgan Fox
