Ronald Ollie, DT, Oakland Raiders

Ronald Ollie was one of the most heavily focused players at EMCC during season one of Last Chance U. Ollie was a fun-loving defensive tackle who quickly became a fan favorite for his personality off the field and his play on the field.

Ollie never received the big SEC offers that he was chasing, but he did make the most out of his opportunities after EMCC. Ollie ended up landing at FCS program Nicholls State, where he was a productive interior defensive lineman the last two years.

In 22 games at Nicholls State, Ollie piled up 74 total tackles, including 20 for loss, seven sacks, two passes defended and two fumble recoveries. Ollie entered the 2019 NFL Draft after college but went undrafted. He did, however, sign an undrafted free agent contract with the Oakland Raiders following the draft.

The former Last Chance U star grabbed the attention of NFL scouts after an impressive showing at his Pro Day. At 6-foot-2, 292 pounds, Ollie ran a 4.87 40-yard dash, had a 35-inch vertical leap and 9.5-foot broad jump, all impressive numbers for a man of his size.

With significant talent ahead of him (Justin Ellis, Johnathan Hankins, Maurice Hurst and P.J. Hall) ahead of him on the Raiders’ depth chart, it will be an uphill climb for Ollie to make the 53-man roster out of camp. That being said, he is undoubtedly an intriguing talent who has a legitimate chance to stick on a practice squad and grow into a capable NFL player.

Note: Ollie has been released by the Raiders. He is still a talented player who might find his way on another NFL camp roster.
