Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts made huge strides in the second half of the 2018 season to reach the playoffs, and much of that came from the defense improving in all facets. It felt similar to the No-Name Defense of the Dolphins decades ago, with many players (other than Darius Leonard) not recognizable by the average fan.

It would be great if that unit could continue to be productive, but evolving and adding talent is key in this league. The Colts went after Justin Houston in free agency, who should bring some juice to the pass rush. Denico Autry and Tyquan Lewis are the projected starters on the interior entering 2019, so why not bring in Daniels to help bring the young group along? We know he brings the intensity to everything he does, and being a mentor along with a productive inside presence would be huge for the Colts.

Indianapolis certainly has the cap room to make it happen, but GM Chris Ballard was very conservative this offseason when it came to signing free agents. It seems unlikely that he would make a splash for Daniels, but the Colts are considered a contender this season, and a move like that would be huge for the defense.
