9. Cincinnati Bengals: JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, USC

Original Pick: John Ross

John Ross absolutely dominated the combine, flashing his elite speed with a record-breaking 4.22 40-yard dash. Ross does not lack anything in the speed department but has not been able to make much happen on the field through his first two seasons. Between his injuries and lack of impact when he does play, Ross is not under consideration for the Cincinnati Bengals here. That being said, we stick with the wide receiver position for them.

JuJu Smith-Schuster is a smooth and athletic wide receiver who simply knows how to create space on the football field. He is a smart route runner, is extremely quick in and out of his breaks and has legitimate deep speed. Smith-Schuster also has reliable hands and can create extra yardage after the catch.

The Pittsburgh Steelers receiver was an absolute star last season, catching 111 passes for 1,426 yards and seven touchdowns. Now, with Antonio Brown moving on, those numbers will likely only get better.

If the Bengals would have drafted based on what a player does on the field as opposed to the track, maybe they would have landed on Smith-Schuster. They undoubtedly would have been much better off. In this practice, they right their wrong, but are stuck with their poor decision in real life.
