2020 NFL Draft: 8 seniors get preliminary first-round grades
The NFL scouting community really loved Adams’ work in 2016 and 2017 before he suffered a season-ending injury halfway through the year.
Adams — a 6-foot-8 tower of a man — was an All-American in 2016 and looked like a future franchise left tackle, poised to leave school early and become the top player selected at his position.
Then the injury happened.
He gets his hands on guys, sets a wide base, and all of a sudden getting past just one guy feels like getting past two or three.
He’s that good when he’s on.
There are times when Adams will lose leverage and let speed get by him, but overall, he looks like an NFL starter at left tackle and if his teammate Kaleb McGary is going in the first round, Adams undoubtedly will.
