2. C Erik McCoy (NFL Draft)

The retirement of Max Unger certainly left a gaping hole in the middle of the New Orleans Saints’ offensive line, and with limited cap space in free agency, they had to rely on the 2019 NFL Draft to supplement that loss.

Lucky for the Saints, Texas A&M center Erik McCoy entered his name into the 2019 draft pool and like he was for the Aggies, I think he’s going to be an instant-impact player in New Orleans.

This guy has the intelligence, the frame, and the athleticism to excel in the NFL immediately. He became a technician at Texas A&M and had the Saints had a first-round pick in this year’s draft, he would have been a viable option for them at the bottom of round one in a very deep offensive line class.

If he can pick up the Saints’ offense quickly, he’s going to be an instant starter for them and a key reason why this offense won’t skip a beat in 2019.
