The Oakland Raiders were one of the most active teams in the NFL offseason in 2019. What were their top five most important moves?

The Oakland Raiders and the Raider faithful are never lacking for optimism and faith in their team.

The Raiders, like the rest of the United States, followed the trend of bringing back the 90s last offseason when they hired Jon Gruden to be their ‘new’ head coach.

Gruden’s second stint with the Raiders was highly publicized because he signed a massive 10-year contract worth $100 million, the only type of deal and probably one of the only teams that could have gotten Gruden away from his comfy gig on TV with ESPN as a Monday Night Football analyst and creator of the fabulous Gruden QB Camp series prior to the NFL Draft.

Gruden’s first year in Oakland was a whirlwind for the fan base, to be certain, as he traded two of the team’s best players away, including pass rusher Khalil Mack.

He also traded away Amari Cooper, let go of former GM Reggie McKenzie, and made a number of other staggering moves, comments, and decisions along the way.

Here we are in year two of the second era of Gruden football in the Bay Area, and expectations are understandably higher.

Why are they higher?

Gruden, along with new GM Mike Mayock, put together an offseason you could have only put together on a Madden video game in years past.

The Raiders re-shaped, re-shuffled, and re-tooled their roster so much, it’s hard to keep everything straight.

With that said, the fan base is reasonably excited after this flurry of moves, but what were the best moves the Raiders made?

If you check out the NFL Mocks podcast, you can hear why Brooks Austin feels like the Raiders had one of the best offseason in the NFL.

I’m here with the impossible task of ranking the top five individual moves among the flurry.
