2019 NFL Draft: Fixing one pick for each NFC West team
Los Angeles Rams 2019 NFL Draft Picks:
Round 2 (61st Overall): Taylor Rapp, S, Washington
Round 3 (70): Darrell Henderson, RB, Memphis
Round 3 (79): David Long, CB, Michigan
Round 3 (97): Bobby Evans, OT, Oklahoma
Round 4 (134): Greg Gaines, DT, Washington
Round 5 (169): David Edwards, OT, Wisconsin
Round 7 (243): Nick Scott, S, Penn State
Round 7 (251): Dakota Allen, LB, Texas Tech
Rams select David Long, LB, West Virginia instead of David Edwards
Despite not making a pick until late in the second round, the Los Angeles Rams had an impressive showing in the 2019 NFL Draft. They absolutely nailed their first four picks, drafting four players who will fill needs on both sides of the ball. They also did a nice job of finding value in the later rounds.

Honestly, I do not really have an issue with any of these picks made by the Rams, but as we know, there is always room for improvement. If I could change anything about this NFL draft class for the Rams, I would insert West Virginia linebacker David Long in the fifth round, replacing Wisconsin offensive tackle David Edwards.
The Rams took Michigan cornerback David Long in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and take West Virginia linebacker David Long in this scenario. Kind of confusing.
Long is a quick and explosive linebacker who shows tremendous play recognition and natural instincts on the field. He is strong as a blitzer, showing the ability to make plays behind the line of scrimmage against the run and create pressure on the quarterback. He also shows some nice upside in coverage.
Long is certainly a bit small for an NFL linebacker, but today’s game is built on speed and Long undoubtedly moves well as an off-ball linebacker. If nothing else, he will be a strong special teams contributor at the next level. However, I believe that Long was some nice defensive upside as well and linebacker is an obvious need for this team.
Edwards was not a bad pick in the fifth round, but Long would have been better.
