2020 NFL Draft: Upcoming wide receiver class shows a ton of promise
At first sight, the wide receiver class of the 2020 NFL Draft could be the best since 2014, bringing a young superstar to an offense near you.
When doing comparisons from year to year, you’ll find that since 2014, teams haven’t had a great deal of success drafting wide receivers in the first round. For one reason or another, whether it is from an unfortunate bout with the injury bug or guys not piecing it together at the position, many teams have whiffed on these first-round talents.
But if missing on first-round wide receivers is a disease, then the 2020 wide receiver class could be the cure. The 2020 NFL Draft promises to have one the best crops of wide receiver talent that we have ever seen and that can not be understated.
Now, I should preface by saying yes, it is only May and the tape I’ve studied has come from their sophomore and/or junior seasons. I have not done a deep dive into their tape yet and I am going off of what I’ve seen so far as a fan and evaluator.
So without further ado, here are four guys that should headline the 2020 NFL Wide Receiver Class. First up Jerry Jeudy.
Jerry Jeudy, Alabama, 6-Foot-1, 192 pounds

Alright, wow where do I even start with this guy? When I put on the film of Jerry Jeudy, he pops right off of the screen at me. As a sophomore, Jeudy ran crisp routes with breakneck speed and high points the ball as well as anyone. During this past 2018 season, he racked up 68 receptions for 1315 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Normally, I would be looking at ways for guys to improve their game coming off of their sophomore season but in Jeudy’s case, I almost can’t find a flaw. The only negative I’ve seen from him at all was that he will get stuck on a corner every once and a while, but I cannot stress how rare that is.
Barring any setbacks, Jeudy seems like a guaranteed first-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, which would not be a surprise for an Alabama player.
