Sam Acho was cut. Isaiah Irving and Aaron Lynch are free agents. It’s clear the depth at outside linebacker is getting a bit too thin for anybody’s liking. Thankfully it appears there are some good options in this draft class and the additional 3rd round pick via the Howard trade enables the Bears to possibly secure themselves some good talent in that area.

Chase Winovich isn’t the biggest or most athletic of edge rush prospects. However, he’s got enough of both combined with quickness and instinct to make for a dangerous edge presence. Though he had a modest 18.5 sacks in three years for Michigan, he had 43 tackles for a loss. So he knows how to get into the backfield. He may just need the right scheme.
