3rd Round

57. . WR. Ohio State. Terry McLaurin . 1. player

People will argue that it makes no sense to take a wide receiver. The Bears don’t need one. There are a few arguments to counter that. For starters, they’re losing two receivers to free agency so depth becomes a concern. Next is the fact that only Allen Robinson established himself as a consistent threat. Anthony Miller and Taylor Gabriel were good at times but disappeared for stretches as well.

What the Bears could really use is a receiver who runs good routes and plays with a more physical edge. Terry McLaurin showcased that in 2018 for Ohio State with 11 touchdowns and then again at the Senior Bowl. If that weren’t enough, he added a 4.35 in the 40-yard dash at the combine. So he has speed as well. This kid looks like one of those players who will be better in the pros than he was in college.
