This one actually became a bit challenging because the Kansas City Chiefs just changed defensive coordinators. Steve Spagnuolo is in charge now and he’ll be shifting them to a 4-3 alignment. That makes the retention of Dee Ford difficult. He’s spent his entire career as a 3-4 outside linebacker and doesn’t have the size to fit the traditional role of a 4-3 defensive end.

Still, he just had 13 sacks in 2018. There is no way the Chiefs can let him walk away at this point. Justin Houston is getting up there in age and he was always viewed as the man who would be their future. Spagnuolo should be able to scheme around his weaknesses. The challenge will be determining the long-term money. He may end up playing on the franchise tag.
