2019 Senior Bowl: Little known prospects who can make some noise
Oli Udoh, OT, Elon
Checking in at the Senior Bowl weigh-ins at 6-foot-6, 327 pounds with 36 inch arms, Oli Udoh may be one of the biggest risers in the 2019 NFL Draft process already.
Udoh put himself on the map at Elon, an FCS school that experienced a major turnaround as a program while he was playing there. They ranked second in the CAA conference with nearly 200 yards rushing per game and that kind of bruising style translated to the East-West Shrine game.
He was punishing guys in practice during East-West week, and got the call up from Jim Nagy and the Senior Bowl, an opportunity he obviously couldn’t pass up on.
If the Elon product can continue to prove himself against an even higher level of competition (and the DL at the Shrine game were very good), he could push himself into the day two discussion as a possible starting right tackle going forward.
He looks like a pretty polished, physical player coming from the FCS and he’s shed a bunch of weight since the last time he stepped on a scale for the record. He weighed 356 according to Elon’s numbers and 327 at the Senior Bowl.
We’ll see if he can continue his impressive offseason circuit so far.
