The Kansas City Chiefs knew they lost something special when they chose to cut Kareem Hunt. It was a necessary decision, but still a hard one. Their running game hasn’t quite been the same since he left. Their odds of finding another star like that quickly are remote. They may be better served seeking out talented bodies they could form into a committee. D’Onta Foreman looked like he was headed for big things in Houston before injuries got in the way.

He had such a promising start in 2017, averaging 4.2 yards per carry and giving the Texans offense a nice power element to go along with Lamar Miller’s speed. It just hasn’t worked out. The team has tried to stay patient with him but there’s a limit to everything. Kansas City may be willing to take a risk on his talent while Houston at least gets something back in return for him.
