Round 2, Pick 50

Will Grier – QB – West Virginia

After the Peyton Manning era, the Broncos have struggled to find their next franchise quarterback. This past offseason they thought they had found the best replacement since Manning when they signed former Vikings quarterback Case Keenum.

Keenum started off the year less than spectacular, however with a newfound run game, Keenum seems to be coming into his own. During there three game win streak, he has not thrown a single interception, something he did in the teams first eight games.

Despite the improved play he still does not appear to be the long term fix at quarterback. Will Grier could be the perfect fit for the Broncos. Having Keenum under contract in 2019 would allow the Broncos to give Keenum one more shot at the starting gig while allowing Grier to slowly learn the offense and adjust to the NFL.

Grier is not a perfect prospect by any means. He struggles with his mechanics and does not have much practice against zone defenses. However, where Grier does excel is his anticipation and throwing motion.

Grier trusts his wide receivers and will throw the ball before they turn to ensure a clean pass that is right on time. He is confident and for the most part a very accurate passer. Grier, with time, could be exactly what the Denver fans have been patiently waiting for.
