NFL Thanksgiving Day headlines including the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Falcons, and New Orleans Saints.

On a day that we are blessed with no work, family, friends, and good food, we are also blessed with football. This Thanksgiving Day the NFL and its viewers will see three great game that all have playoff implications.

Each game is very important and features some very big headlines to keep an eye on. Here are the biggest NFL Thanksgiving Day headlines to watch for on Thursday.

Chicago Bears (7-3) @ Detroit Lions (4-6)

Chicago Bears – Will Mitchell Trubisky Play?

After beating the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night, news quickly broke of an injury to Chicago Bears quarterback, Mitchell Trubisky. The injury was suffered when he was hit in the shoulder by Vikings safety Harrison Smith.

Unfortunately for Bears fans, the injury occurred on his throwing shoulder. Despite the optimism from Trubisky it remains something to track. The Bears are sitting atop the NFC North at 7-3 and are looking to continue to grow their lead.

If Trubisky is out we will see backup Chase Daniels get the start on Thanksgiving Day.

Detroit Lions – How do the Lions replace Kerryon Johnson?

The NFC wildcard spots are still up for grabs, and the Lions remain a team that can still sneak into the playoffs. A big part of their success this year has come when they get rookie running back Kerryon Johnson going.

The Lions are 4-0 this year when Johnson runs for at least 70 yards. However, Kerryon suffered a sprained knee in their victory over the Panthers in week 11.

The question for the Lions will be how to replace Johnson on Thursday against one of the best run defenses in the league.
