The San Francisco 49ers could be dealing one of their veterans according to the latest NFL trade rumors

The latest NFL trade rumors with the NFL trade deadline approaching singles out one of the San Francisco 49ers wide receivers, Pierre Garçon.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the 49ers have received interest in Garçon despite a recent knee injury. Garçon is not expected to play in week eight and has been dealing with the injury for approximately two weeks.

While Garçon is 32-years-old he’s signed through next season at a reasonable price. He carries a $6.6 million base salary this season and has three club options after that, according to Spotrac.

Since losing Jimmy Garoppolo for the season the 49ers have been thrown back into rebuild mode for at least one more year.

A trade for Garçon likely won’t garner more than a mid-round draft pick with some protections based on playing time. A fifth-round pick feels adequate for Garçon, who hasn’t caught a touchdown since December 11, 2016.

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported Sunday morning that the New England Patriots are looking for another receiver despite the acquisition of Josh Gordon. However, the Patriots don’t have a fifth or sixth round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft after trading for Gordon and Johnson Bademosi.

Dallas picked up Amari Cooper from Oakland for their first round pick in 2019, but adding Garçon would provide decent insurance behind the former Raider.

Houston recently lost Will Fuller to an ACL injury, but their position as either a buyer or seller could change depending on their game against Denver.
