Cody Parkey screaming towards Kevin Butler mark of 144 points

Ask this trivia question. Which Bears kicked holds the all-time single-season team record for most points scored. Almost everybody nowadays would probably say Robbie Gould and they would all be wrong. That mark actually belongs to Kevin Butler who just so happened to claim the mark of 144 total points as a rookie in 1985. That quite the welcoming to the NFL, yes?

Cody Parkey, after a difficult preseason, has been almost perfect through four games thus far. He’s 9-of-10 on field goals and a perfect 12-of-12 on extra points. That puts him at 39 points through one quarter of the season. As things stand he is on pace for 156 total points, which would smash the old record by 12. Did anybody expect something like that when he was signed?
