. DT. Auburn. Derrick Brown. 12. player. 53

Despite proving to be a much better football team this year, the Cleveland Browns still have a lot of holes to fill. They’ve allowed 16 sacks through four games and their defensive tackles are average at best. It’s time for the Browns to build up the middle.

There are several ways to go if you’re Cleveland, and given how the board has fallen their best option is a defensive tackle. There are a ton of options remaining, and I’m going with one who, in my opinion, isn’t getting enough attention early on among other mock drafts.

Derrick Brown put on a show against Georgia last year and dismantled the pocket throughout the game. His strength was undeniable as he shoved guards straight back into the quarterback. He also gets his hands up constantly and deflects passes. While he’s only been credited with two pass deflections, I’ve seen more in the short amount of tape available.

Some might still consider this a reach, but I think Brown has as high of a ceiling as nearly every defensive tackle, outside of Oliver, in this draft. Cleveland needs to generate more pressure on quarterbacks and win at the line of scrimmage. Brown can do just that.
