Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers: Three Things We Learned
By Andrew Kim
Ravens Wide Receiver Trio look like Money Well Spent
Last offseason, the Ravens knew they had to get Flacco some weapons after a miserable 2017 season with the receivers they had. So far, the receiver trio with Michael Crabtree, John Brown, and Willie Snead have been all great signings in free agency as they are paying dividends for the Ravens.
With a healthy and protected Joe Flacco with upgraded weapons, the narrative have been turned around. Flacco has thrown for 1,252 yards (64.3% completion percentage on 171 attempts and completing 110 passes) and has thrown eight touchdowns to only two interceptions with a 96.9 quarterback rating.
In this game, he threw the most he has ever thrown in Heinz Field (363 yards) and had two touchdowns.

So far, the best receiver signing in free agency out of the Ravens receiver trio has been John Brown as he has been one of the more efficient deep ball receivers in the NFL. Brown was the big play threat in this game with three catches but had over 116 yards with a touchdown. He has almost double the yards both Crabtree and Snead has (338 yards).
Willie Snead and Michael Crabtree have been pretty consistent as well, with Snead working in the slot and securing many tough catches the past couple weeks.
My one issue with Crabtree has been the drops as he had an easy drop on a slant that could have been a first down. Even with the drops, he is still tied for most catches on the team with 18.
As long as Brown can stretch the field and Snead/Crabtree continue making the tough catches in the middle, the passing offense for the Ravens should end up as a top-10 passing offense.
