Stanford Keys to Victory

Play Action Approach

Everything goes through Bryce Love for Stanford’s offense but if they can feed him early and get him going, Notre Dame will have all eyes on number 20. This will open up the play action game where Costello can deliver strikes to Arcega-Whiteside and Kaden Smith down.

More from College Football

Stanford should try to chew up as much clock as possible while on offense to keep the ball away from Notre Dame’s offense. Deep shots need to come few and far between while hitting short and intermediate routes could give them the time of possession needed to win.

Stuff the Run

While it is beginning to have a broken record type of feel to it, the fact is Notre Dame likes to run the ball. Stanford absolutely has to control the line of scrimmage and not give the Irish the opportunity to find a rhythm. The Cardinal needs to make Notre Dame one-dimensional, which will not be easy but is imperative for victory.
