Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals: Three Things We Learned
By Andrew Kim
Joe Mixon is the catalyst for the potent Bengals offense
Joe Mixon can be a problem on all three downs as a runner and receiver, making it hard for the Ravens when they needed a crucial stop to get close to tying the game.
Mixon had 21 carries for 84 yards and averaged four yards a carry before injuring his knee, but had some eye-popping cuts with their offensive line playing well against the Ravens defensive line. He went out twice with the knee injury but came back in as it did not seem serious at the time.
Giovanni Bernard has some nice runs as well as he can fill in for Mixon, who will be out for two weeks following a procedure on his knee.
The Ravens run defense just was not good enough in containing him as a defensive line with Brandon Williams and Michael Pierce should be decent against the run at the very least.
The Ravens were bad against the run at times last year, but that was without Brandon Williams as his impact has been pretty minimal so far this year.
