#23 Arizona State upsets #25 Michigan State on a late kick

The Herm Edwards era is going quite well in Tempe, Arizona.

Down 13-3 going into the fourth quarter, the Sun Devils mounted a comeback against the tough Michigan State Spartans and won on a game-winning 28-yard field goal as time expired. Giving Edwards his first marquee win as a collegiate victory as a head coach.

On the flip side, while Michigan State is always a hard-nosed program, they have shown some kinks so far this season whether it is not putting away an inferior opponent (Utah State) or it’s trouble scoring deep into opponents territory (Arizona State).

Can Arizona State challenge for a possible spot in the conference championship? They’re capable believe it or not. With quarterback Manny Wilkins, receivers N’Keal Harry and Kyle Williams, and running back Eno Benjamin, the offensive firepower is there. But the defense will take the team as far as they can.

With a defensive minded coach in Herm Edwards, that element is not out of the question.
