Keys to the Game

Seattle Seahawks: Force turnovers

The biggest key for the Seattle Seahawks in this game is going to be finding a way to create turnovers or at least make the Broncos make bad decisions.

Denver’s greatest weakness in 2017 was their propensity for turning the ball over. They ranked second in the NFL behind the Cleveland Browns in this category. Since defense is Denver’s greatest strength, forcing turnovers and keeping the ball in Russell Wilson’s hands as much as possible will allow Seattle to wear down Denver’s defense.

Denver Broncos: Field position

One of the most underrated aspects of football is starting field position. The Broncos were among the league’s worst in this category in 2017, in terms of both their offense’s average starting field position and their opponents’ starting field position.

The Broncos went out this offseason and signed Marquette King to help flip the field, and putting the Seahawks in poor starting field position consistently will be critical as Russell Wilson is capable of doing so much damage on his own. You’ve got to put him as far away from the end zone as possible every drive.
