Baltimore Ravens waive former first round pick Breshad Perriman
A major fall from grace is being felt by the former Baltimore Ravens wide receiver
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman has been waived by the team just three years after being selected in the first round.
According to Jamison Hensley of ESPN, it’s the first time in Ravens franchise history the Ravens have moved on from a first round pick before their rookie contract expired.
It’s been a long road for Perriman since coming out of Central Florida in 2015. Drafted 26th overall, Perriman missed his entire rookie season due to injury. After he came back for 2016 the speedster looked to have regained himself with 499 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games.
Last year was another disappointing year for Perriman with only 10 catches in 11 games due to a concussion and knee injury.

Perriman was far from a roster lock this year given his injury history and lack of production. Baltimore completely revamped their receiving corp with free agents Michael Crabtree and John Brown and drafted tight ends Mark Andrews and Hayden Hurst, who was one of two first round picks made by Baltimore.
Perriman is likely to get another look somewhere as 53-man rosters are set prior to week one of the regular season.
The former UCF receiver wasn’t the only former first round wide receiver cut on Saturday as teams trim down their depth charts. Former Cleveland Browns first round pick Corey Coleman was released by the Buffalo Bills, who had acquired Coleman for a seventh-round pick during the training camp last month.
