Would a big injury for the Jacksonville Jaguars turn them to a big free agent target?

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Marqise Lee was carted off the field Saturday night in Jacksonville with a knee injury. With Damonte Kazee wrapped around his ankle, Lee’s left knee buckled as he fell to the ground.

Head coach Doug Marrone said the injury looked serious, but he didn’t have an answer on how severe the wide receiver’s injury was.

Jacksonville lost top receiver Allen Robinson, who was coming off an ACL injury, in free agency. Allen Hurns also left for the Dallas Cowboys, taking a roster spot from Dez Bryant.

Could Bryant, the top wide receiver available in free agency, replace Lee in Jacksonville if Saturday night’s injury is as bad as it looked?

Jacksonville drafted LSU’s DJ Chark in the second round and added veteran Donte Moncrief this offseason. They join second-year speedster Dede Westbrook and Keelan Cole, who combined for over 1,000 receiving yards last year.

If Jacksonville doesn’t feel like they have a true number one receiver without Lee, who had 56 catches last year, they could turn to someone outside the organization.

A note that could catch the former Cowboy’s eye is that the Jaguars play IN DALLAS week six. Bryant said after he was cut he wanted to play his former team this year, but so far the only public interest has come from the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns.

Bryant visited Cleveland, as seen on Hard Knocks, but Bryant reportedly turned down a deal worth less than $5 million despite the love he showed head coach Hue Jackson on TV.

He’s no longer a number one receiver and injuries have plagued him lately, but Jacksonville could be a place he can thrive. The offense needs a playmaker to help drive them back to the AFC Championship, and Bryant paired with Westbrook and Chark could be deadly for Blake Bortles.

Hopefully Lee comes out fine despite the scary injury, but if not the Jaguars have a legitimate option waiting on the open market.
