NFL: 3 Things To Watch in Buffalo Bills vs. Cleveland Browns
#1 Former players vs. former teams
As mentioned, Browns quarterback Tyrod Taylor gets an opportunity to face off against a team that he guided to the playoffs last season after posting 14 touchdowns and just four interceptions and starting 43 of 44 games played in the last three seasons. His “era” in Buffalo ended rather unceremoniously after the team traded him to Cleveland for a third-round pick in this year’s draft.
Ironically, the Bills have themselves a former Brown in 2016 first round wide receiver Corey Coleman, who was recently traded less than two weeks ago to Buffalo in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2020 draft. If you are a watcher of “Hard Knocks,” you watched how Coleman may have negotiated his way out of Cleveland thanks to a one-on-one meeting with Browns head coach Hue Jackson.
Whether or not both players play extensive playing time is definitely one thing to keep an eye on. However, both players departed their former team in a manner that left them feel somewhat jaded, so it’s possible that both will look to make a statement or two in this one.
