Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo was hired to be the primary play caller for the Vikings and the assistant played a major role in the Eagles transitioning from an injured Carson Wentz to backup quarterback Nick Foles.
DeFilippo only has one season of coordinating under his belt at the NFL level. That was with a Cleveland Browns team that was 30th in scoring and 25th overall.
