2. Rookie Pass Rusher

As a result of the Broncos disappointing 2017 season, the team earned the fifth overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft. Who they selected may turn out to be another piece of a dynamic puzzle.

North Carolina State defensive end Bradley Chubb was picked as team’s latest first rounder to add to a defense that has several cornerstones in place. Chubb was the top pass rusher in the draft and an elite prospect with 25 sacks and 54.5 tackles for loss in the past three seasons.

Thanks to the presence of arguably the best pass rusher in the league in Miller, it was not a necessity for the Broncos to select Chubb. However, it was enticing to pair what may be the best in the game today with the best pass rusher in the draft. Nothing is really expected from Miller because we are already aware of his greatness. But with Chubb, can he uphold to the pressure of playing alongside Miller? How quickly does he get adjusted to the NFL?

He has already “won” the starting job opposite from Miller for Week 1 of the regular season. Week 1 of the preseason could set the foundation for what may be an excellent rookie season for Chubb.
