NFL Preseason highlights: The best rookie performances on Thursday
Josh Allen, QB
Josh Allen’s preseason debut was not unlike watching one of his college games at Wyoming.
Allen’s inaccuracy was on display at times, but there were also a number of drops from Bills backup receivers.
One, in particular, was pretty bad.
Allen rears back to fire a deep ball downfield from the Bills’ 30-yard line, and the ball ultimately lands on the ground at the opponents’ five-yard line on a throw that probably should have been a touchdown.
Overall, Allen’s 9-of-19 passing line doesn’t really tell the whole story. Watching through this game, it wasn’t as bad as that stat line shows, and Allen made some phenomenal throws among those nine completions.
As is typical with Allen, the results here were a mixed bag. Hopefully, he gets a chance to show what he can do with the more talented players on the Bills’ roster.
