Chris Godwin, Wide Receiver

Buccaneers fans are understandably giddy about their 2017 third-round pick, Chris Godwin, a speedy receiver with excellent size and after-the-catch- ability out of Penn State.

Godwin was utilized modestly throughout the first half of the season, but saw an increase in targets as the season went along including a season-high 12 in the team’s final game against New Orleans.

In that final game, Godwin racked up 111 yards on seven catches and his first touchdown of the year.

That big game came one week after he posted three receptions for 98 yards in a loss against the Panthers.

Godwin showed flashes of his big play ability throughout the season and has Buccaneers fans excited that he can be a consistent big play threat in year two.

He should play at least 60 percent of the offensive snaps in 2018 if he stays healthy, and there’s no reason he can’t emerge as the team’s number two receiver alongside Mike Evans.
