#2:  Devin Hester breaks the all-time return record (2010)

It’s hard to put into words how much many Bears fans miss Devin Hester. Few brought more excitement and anticipation to Sundays than him. Everyone wanted to see what he would do next. That sort of enjoyment in football is priceless and it’s why Hester remains such a treasured figure to this day. Watching him at his peak was a joy future generations won’t understand.

That’s because the return game as it was known then is gone. Kickoffs are changing and may be banned entirely in a few years. Punts may soon follow. So for those who got to see Hester break the all-time return record in 2010, it’s truly a memory to treasure because it’s unlikely any football fan will see something like it again.

The way he did it too was extra special. It was on the road in frigid, snowy conditions in Minnesota. He ran back a punt return for the decisive 14th and record-breaking touchdown. One that helped propel the Bears to the division title in a 40-14 rout of the Vikings.
