Rumors are flying around the 2018 NFL Draft in Dallas as teams prepare to be on the clock

Unlike years past the 2018 NFL Draft has been a complete mystery as to who will be the first overall pick. Cleveland holds the pick for the second consecutive year, and after taking pass rusher Myles Garrett last year they are primed for a quarterback.

Despite the expectations of many analysts, the biggest rumor floating around Dallas is that the Browns will take Oklahoma quarterback and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield number one overall. ESPN’s Josina Anderson expects Mayfield to be the pick, and her colleague Chris Mortenson says general manager John Dorsey has known who he will pick atop the draft for about six weeks.

Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen woke up to major news, and not the kind he was expecting. Someone, or some team as many have speculated, released a list of unflattering tweets posted by Allen when he was in high school, ranging from quotes and statements some found to be racist and homophobic.

Allen apologized for the tweets and said to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith they came from a time he was “dumb and young.”

Sitting at number two is the New York Giants, and all reports suggest they will take Penn State running back Saquon Barkley in the first round.

After that, the picks will be just as surprising to the fans as they are to analysts and teams drafting later in the round.

Several teams have been connected as candidates to trade back in the first round, including Denver, Philadelphia, Seattle, and Detroit. Meanwhile, Arizona, Miami, and Buffalo are candidates to trade up for a franchise quarterback.

Everything at the top with Cleveland and New York will create a rampant domino effect that will shape the lives of thousands.
