2018 NFL Draft: Sam Darnold the undisputed top pick
Sam Darnold has separated himself in the 2018 NFL Draft
Few NFL Drafts have as deep of a quarterback class as the 2018 NFL Draft, but after months of debate and workouts it appears USC’s Sam Darnold has established himself as the top quarterback.
Reports are every NFL team was in attendance at Darnold’s pro day, which was marred by rain. Weather conditions didn’t affect Darnold, who cut the ball through the driving rain and set up perfect passes to his receivers.
Darnold’s movement was smooth, his footwork was refined, and the throwing motion was cleaned up. Each ball had great spin, touch, and velocity, even on the run.
While a pro day or combine performance shouldn’t be the final determination in whether a quarterback should be a franchise leader, Darnold has slowly established himself throughout the process. He’s displayed pristene personality and off the field attributes, and his interviews should leave coaches more than impressed.

Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam attended the Pro Day, which gives a clear sign of how interested the Browns are. If a coach or scout attends a pro day it’s one thing; when the owner travels across the country to meet a player, it says a lot.
While impressive as Darnold has been, the questions surrounding the other quarterbacks in this class boosts the USC star even higher. Rosen has the personality concerns, Allen has the accuracy concerns, and Mayfield has the off the field and size concerns.

Between the impressive workouts, personality, and nature of this loaded quarterback class, it apepars to be easy money that Darnold will be the number one overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.
