Cleveland Browns trade for superstar Jarvis Landry
A major deal involving Jarvis Landry is being reported
Miami Dolphins franchise-tagged receiver Jarvis Landry has reportedly been traded to the Cleveland Browns. Baltimore and New Orleans were among the teams engaged with Miami on a potential deal, but the cash and pick heavy Browns have, for once, come out on top
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports the deal will send two draft picks to Miami, one of which will be for this upcoming draft.
Landry and Miami had been unable to agree to a long-term deal prior to the franchise tag being placed on the receiver earlier this week. The wide receiver franchise tag will be worth just under $16 million this year, and whether or not Landry signs a long-term deal in Cleveland is to be seen. Rapoport believes the two sides will work on a new deal and that Landry was willing to go to Cleveland.
Despite playing in the slot most of his career and having multiple starting quarterbacks around him, Landry has turned into one of the best receivers in the NFL. Landry led the NFL in receptions last year with 112 while setting a career high in touchdowns with nine. In his four seasons with Miami after being drafted 63rd overall in 2014 out of LSU, Landry has over 4,000 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns.
Cleveland now has a dynamic group of wide receivers with Landry teaming up with the newly-reinstated Josh Gordon and first round pick Corey Coleman. Tight end David Njoku could also become a major weapon, and the potential of Saquon Barkley in Cleveland makes their future even brighter.

Miami will now enter next season with DeVante Parker and Kenny Stills as their leading receivers and second-year receiver Leonte Carroo working his way in. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill will be coming off another knee injury and the Dolphins could be in play for a quarterback in the first round.
