Former St. Louis Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey is making one of the most incredible comebacks to the NFL you will ever see.
In an offseason with some inspiring storylines from the likes of Shaquem Griffin and others in the draft and free agency, Bailey has had to overcome being shot in the head twice when he was a passenger in a vehicle that was shot at in Florida back in November, 2015.
After being told by doctors he may never walk again, Bailey is not only walking, he’s running, he’s running routes, and he’s catching passes in front of NFL scouts hoping to get back into the NFL after his career was tragically and horrifically derailed.
Bailey was able to participate in the Marshall Thundering Herd pro day on March 7th, and was catching passes from draft prospect Chase Litton.
This is an incredible story.

Bailey had a career-high 30 catches for 435 yards back in 2014, and only had 59 in his three seasons in the NFL but he was also playing in a very crowded wide receiver group with the Rams and not really anyone to get them the ball at the quarterback position.
Equipped with the ability to track down deep balls and make tough, contested catches, Bailey is just 27 and his workout in front of 12 NFL scouts at the Marshall pro day could be the first step toward his making a comeback this offseason.
It’s going to be an uphill battle having been out of football for two-and-a-half years, but Bailey should get an opportunity from someone on a non-guaranteed contract and camp invitation.
This guy was once a very promising young prospect, so seeing him come back from being shot in the head twice is remarkable in and of itself. Getting a chance to participate in an NFL offseason program would be a triumph unlike anything we’ve seen.
