Da’Shawn Hand, DL, Alabama

One of the most interesting players on the defensive side of the ball at the Senior Bowl this year is Alabama’s Da’Shawn Hand, the former top prospect in the entire country according to Rivals and a former unanimous five-star prospect.

At Alabama, it’s easy for a player of that caliber to drift into anonymity — in a way — and Hand has been a bit underrated this season because he’s only played in 10 games due to injury.

There’s no doubt when he’s healthy, Hand has the ability to take over a game. Just ask Clemson:

Why does Hand have a chance to really boost his stock at the Senior Bowl? Well, he’s going to be going up against one of the best groups of offensive linemen I have ever seen in attendance at the event.

Hand is certainly a rare talent along the defensive line, combining rare athleticism with size and strength. I also think he has the versatility to play inside and outside at the next level. He can prove in this week of practices and at the game that he belongs in the top 15 conversation.
