Throw #1

Patrick Mahomes’ first NFL completion was a thing of beauty.

This throw was an absolute dart, on a line, perfectly placed to the tight end Demetrius Harris, who may have had to shake his head in disbelief after catching this ball.

There’s simply not many players in football that can put this type of throw with that kind of accuracy and velocity right on a receiver, and there’s no defense for it.

I remember watching Mahomes in the pre-draft process and thinking that he looked a bit like Aaron Rodgers, and this is the type of confident throw I would expect of a guy like Rodgers.

Mahomes’ style of throwing the ball makes this look easy. He’s got an absolute rocket for an arm. Yes, he steps into the throw, but it doesn’t look like he’s exerting too much energy to get the ball out.

This throw set the tone for what would turn out to be a special day for no. 15.
