Will the Giants really get rid of Eli Manning?

With a changing of the guard in the front office and at head coach, it seems like that’s at least a distinct probability. Manning will probably want to play elsewhere this next year, and if history is any indication, he will likely get to pick wherever he wants to play.

The Giants are in the position they are draft-wise for a reason. This team is very bad, and they need a long-term solution at quarterback.

Until we know their GM and head coach situation, we have no idea if Manning is going to be part of the plans going forward, but he’s 36 and will cost $22 million against the cap next year. The Giants can save $10 million by letting him go this offseason.

My prediction for this situation?

The Giants ultimately let Manning go, and draft Josh Rosen to be the future (and present) of their team. With the Browns making a trade for A.J. McCarron, the Giants make Rosen the first QB off the board in the 2018 NFL Draft.
