Second Round: Damien Harris, RB, Alabama

If you get yourself a new quarterback, he’s going to need some help.

Alabama’s Damien Harris could be a quarterback’s best friend at the next level.

Very quietly, Harris is on pace to become just the second Alabama running back this decade to repeat as a thousand-yard back in their system. That’s not to say he’s the most talented, but he may have the most well-rounded skill set of any back coming out.

While Harris didn’t get Heisman hype, he was incredibly effective as a runner, averaging over eight yards per carry this season. He is also a phenomenal pass protector.

If the Broncos go for a youth movement at the running back position, Harris is a player that could step in right out of college and have success at least on third downs.

He should eventually find himself a featured back at the next level, and right now, the Broncos don’t have one of those outside of C.J. Anderson, who may not be around in 2018.
