Wide Receiver:  Josh Gordon

There’s a fun saying in football. “God only makes so many of these guys.” This is referring to superstar type of players. It’s becoming clear that Josh Gordon is one such type. There is no denying the wide receiver has a laundry list of problems off the field. He hadn’t played a game for three years until last week due to repeated drug-related issues. Yet the moment he gets back he’s immediately the best receiver on the field. That’s how insanely gifted he is.

Is there risk? Without question, but there is also untold reward. Gordon will be an exclusive rights free agent in 2018. This means he either signs an extension before the deadline or the Browns franchise tag him. Otherwise he becomes an unrestricted free agent. Try to imagine adding him to Trubisky’s arsenal. That’s like going from a Gremlin to a Dodge Viper overnight. It would completely change the outlook of the offense.
