News isn’t good for the Redskins star right tackle after going down Thursday Night against the Dallas Cowboys

Washington Redskins star right tackle Morgan Moses has been downgraded to “out” after injuring his ankle on Thursday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys.

The 26-year-old right tackle fell over Cowboys pass rusher David Irving and teammate Ty Nsekhe when Dallas’ DeMarcus Lawrence shoved him during the game in Dallas.

Moses remained on the turf before a medical cart took him off the field at AT&T Stadium. He was replaced by 25-year-old backup Arie Kouandjio for the remainder of the game.

Washington entered the game with left tackle Trent Williams already on the mend and questionable with a knee injury. Williams did start the game for Washington after warming up prior to kickoff.

The Redskins injury woes weren’t just limited to their offensive line Thursday night; running back Samaje Perine was evaluated for a concussion early in the first half. He was later cleared and returned to the field after some impressive runs against the Cowboys defense.

Both the Redskins and Cowboys entered Thursday night’s matchup in dire need of a victory to stay in the playoff hunt. Philadelphia has all-but locked up the division with a league-best 10-1 record behind second-year quarterback Carson Wentz.

If the Redskins win on the road on Thursday the Eagles win the division in November, a feat few imagined going into the season.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was also injured but remained in the game after his hand was caught between an opponents helmet and his own sternum. A wrap was placed on his throwing hand while on the sideline.
