Jarvis Landry (WR)

With Kendall Wright gone it opens up a spot at the slot wide receiver position. Landry is arguably the best in the NFL playing from there as his two Pro Bowls illustrate. He’s fast, quick, a sharp route runner and deadly with the ball in his hands. Trubisky needs a target who can get open consistently. Landry has proven to be one of the handful in the league capable of that.

Paul Richardson (WR)

Clearly Pace isn’t messing around this time. His assault at wide receiver continues by locking up Richardson, who is playing the best football of his career in Seattle this season. He’s got solid speed and plays much more physically than somebody 6’0″ usually would. His greatest feature are his hands. He has a flare for the spectacular catch and is particularly good in the red zone.

Jeremiah Attaochu (OLB)

Sometimes it’s injury, sometimes it’s lacking work ethic and sometimes it’s a coaching change that can stunt the growth of a promising player. Jeremiah Attaochu was set to become a viable pass rush threat by his third year in 2016. Three things then happened to kill that hope. He got hurt, Joey Bosa got drafted and then this year they switch to a 4-3 scheme. He needs a change of scenery and Chicago needs pass rush help. It’s a worthwhile gamble.

Trumaine Johnson (CB)

Bringing back Fuller was a good decision, but the Bears still need to find a second boundary corner with Prince Amukamara leaving. They succeed at this by corralling Trumaine Johnson. The 6’2″ kid has found new life under Wade Phillips in Los Angeles and is playing good football again. Like Fuller he’s not known for his blazing speed but he’s tough, physical, a good tackler and has a nose for the football.
