Denver Broncos

If the season ended today…

…The Denver Broncos would be picking in the top 10.

The Denver Broncos’ quarterback situation would best be described right now as a dumpster fire.

Trevor Siemian did not take necessary second and third steps in his progression as an NFL starter, and was benched for Brock Osweiler.

Does anything more need to be said?

Osweiler struggled in Denver’s worst blowout loss of the season, a 51-24 drubbing at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Behind Osweiler is former first round pick Paxton Lynch, who has been injured since the preseason and has looked inept since a relief appearance in the 2016 regular season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

John Elway may have to go back to the drawing board.

This team is 24 games removed from winning a Super Bowl, so it’s not like time is running out on Elway, who just signed an extension and received a promotion with the Broncos this year. That being said, the pressure is always on from the fans to have a contender in Denver, and no one knows that better than Elway.

The Broncos, as of right now, would be picking in the top 10 of the 2018 NFL Draft. They would hold the 9th overall selection if the season were to end today, to be exact.

Right now, all signs point to that pick getting better and better, as the Broncos don’t look like they’ll be favored in many more games this year.
